Established in 1995, the Pike County Agribusiness Authority was formed to strengthen and promote every aspect of agriculture throughout our community. The Authority plays a vital role in supporting local producers, developing new opportunities for agribusiness, and maintaining the agricultural character that defines Pike County.
From farming, seed supply, and equipment to processing, marketing, and retail, the Authority works to connect and empower all who contribute to our local agricultural economy. Its mission extends beyond business growth, it’s about preserving our heritage while building a foundation for the next generation of farmers, entrepreneurs, and agricultural leaders.
One of the Authority’s proudest accomplishments is Chestnut Oak Arena, a premier agricultural and community event facility. The arena’s official ribbon cutting took place in November 2020, marking the beginning of what has become a vibrant hub for rodeos, clinics, and community gatherings.
For riders, Chestnut Oak Arena offers an exceptional experience. The arena footing is well-maintained, covered/lighted, and groomed for optimal performance, providing safe, consistent ground conditions for horses and riders alike. Whether you’re entering the arena for competition or practice, you’ll find the dirt to be just right, firm, forgiving, and ready for action.
Chestnut Oak Arena represents more than a facility, it is a gathering place for Pike County and beyond. Whether you’re attending a rodeo, cheering on a youth livestock show, or enjoying a family trail ride, this space brings people together through a shared love of agriculture, horses, and community spirit.
The Pike County Agribusiness Board meets monthly on the third Monday of each month, and we always welcome visitors from the community—because together, we make things better.
If you have a question, concern, or request you’d like the board to consider, please contact us to be added to the meeting agenda no later than the Wednesday prior to the scheduled meeting. Your voice and involvement help us continue to strengthen agriculture in Pike County.
